The Celtics put together their best defensive effort of the season, lholding the Pacers to a lowly 31.8 percent shooting. It was a great game for defense, and at first sight it seemed like both teams would be off tonight. But the Celtics rallied behind Rondo's aggressive attitude.
Rajon Rondo added 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds. His defense with Bradley set the tone, and the interior defense was solid as well. The Celtics gave up a decent amount inside the paint to the Pacers 32, and they out rebounded the Pacers 49-47.
Sully was the star on the glass with 10 rebounds, and he was at his best on the defensive end. The energy tonight was off the charts for the Celtics. The Celtics built a large lead after putting up 32 in the second quarter, and they never relinquished the large lead. Rondo was able to sit the entire 4th quarter, Pierce played 29 minutes. And KG was charged with a bogus flagrant two call, so he was ejected in the 4th with the Celtics already up 20 points. He played 24 minutes on the night.
The Celtics have shown us some life, and Bradley was a big help, and so was Lee tonight with his 13 points. The Celtics hopefully build off of this.
