Is Doc to comfortable?

Posted by shawn cassidy on December 28, 2012 at 7:00 AM

Doc was asked about Avery Johnson being fired, and he was asked about his job being on the line. He was asked this. Are you afraid of losing your job?

“Yeah, I am,” Rivers said with a laugh. “I mean, shoot, I may have to golf for the rest of the year.”

The Celtics have a long list of issues, and I had a brief, and small list this morning. But I left off the coaching. I feel as if Doc feels safe. I hear all the time about job security, and I think Doc is untouchable. So I wonder if that hurts his performance. The level of urgency is down. Because nothing will happen with him. I love Doc, and yes i disagree with Doc at times. Especially with small ball. But Doc has no choice really to play small. Collins is all he has, and he's a foul prone big. After that we have Sully, and Bass who are not the biggest, and baddest big men.

We often talk about trading players. But what if your coach gets to relaxed?

If Rondo doesn't go, Doc has to. This team was built for those two guys. If the Cs had competed last night, but lost, I wouldn't say that. I'd be fired up for the next game. No one expected this thing to be turned around overnight. But they played with no heart last night. And it's not hard to find a culprit. Rondo didn't go at Paul. HOW DO YOU NOT GO AT YOUR BIGGEST RIVAL?!!!!!! How do you do that? How do you explain that, Rondo? Can you imagine Larry playing like Rondo did last night? I could have understood it maybe if Rondo was just in that weird zone he gets in sometimes. But he was actually fairly sharp.

Doc needs a wake up call. Danny and Doc are way to close. Doc won a title, and he's been succesful. But when do the guys tune hime out?? I say give him a firm warning.

We've seen this crappy offense from Doc for too long. I'm sick of it. I don't want to see it one more dang game.
