State of the Celtics: Bradley back at practice on Monday

Posted by shawn cassidy on December 18, 2012 at 12:35 AM

As many of you know by now. Bradley hit the practice floor for the first time this season.

ESPN BOSTON

"Celtics guard Avery Bradley, sidelined since mid May due to shoulder issues that required a pair of offseason surgeries, is scheduled to engage in contact activities for the first time during the team's offday workout on Monday in Chicago, according to the team.

Bradley's breakout 2011-12 season ended with a final shoulder dislocation in Game 4 of an Eastern Conference semifinals series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Bradley had already been dealing with issues in both shoulders, including multiple dislocations of the left. He underwent surgery on that shoulder in late May, then had a second procedure to clean up areas of his right shoulder in July.

Bradley has been rehabbing with a mid-December return to practice in mind. He has hesitated to put a timeline on a return to game action, stressing he'll simply take it day-by-day once he resumes contact activities."

Can't wait to see what this young man does. The expectations could be high for Bradley, and I caution many of you to be patient. He'll be rusty, and out of game shape, and frankly I don't see him truly impacting the Celtics until February. He may be okay before that, but since we don"t know much about Bradley, and he's entering his third season. We don't know what will get out of him. It's good news today.

I'm sure Bradley will help a lot. Perhaps he is the one who can lead this team, since Rondo can't, or won't.
