We know as fans that we've upgraded with Terry. He wants to be in Boston, and he wants to be a Celtic. The green, and white seem so right on Terry. But one thing doesn't sit so well with Terry. That one thing is being compared to Ray Allen. Terry is coming in as an assassin off the bench. Ray was in denial about coming off the bench here, but Terry owns it.
“No, we’re two different players and hopefully, I’ll bring something that Ray didn’t and some of the things that he did. Obviously, Ray was a great player for this franchise for years, brought them a championship in ’08. But, again, our games are totally different. He’s 6-5 and I’m 6-2, but I am “The Jet” and I like to fly so we’ll see what happens. A lot of those comparisons will be thrown out there but we’re two totally different players. For me, my job, it doesn’t change. I’ll be thrust into the sixth-man role. But hey, I’m on one of the best. It is what it is, and I take pride in it. It’s something every team needs, that spark, that energy off the bench and that’s what I’m here to do. Anything other than that, I won’t be doing my job.”
Terry will take us on a jet ride this season, and it's refreshing having him here. It's a great time for him. Terry's attitude is perfect for this season. The Celtics need high energy, and that's what Terry is all about. Terry won't hit 8 three's a game, and I don't see Ray doing that again in his career. But I do see Terry carrying us to a win at some point, and not even just one time. Terry is the backbone of the bench. A key part in a title run. I couldn't see a better fit for Boston.
