Celtics by the Numbers: Atlantic Division- Washington Wizards

This is a post that I do during the season after games. For the next week or so. I will cover the Atlantic division, and how the Celtics match up against their Atlantic foes.Today I will cover the Wizards by the numbers.


In the first matchup against the Wizards, Rondo put up a triple-double. His stat line, 18 Pts, 11 Rebs, 14 Ast's,



"I just knew he played great. He was sensational all night. He had one of those nights -- he had this last year in stretches -- where he just called a good game, you know, like he's a great catcher," Rivers said.

"He called a terrific game tonight."


Rondo will only get better. Each season he finds something to expose others. This coming season will be sensational. Here are the numbers from the season series between the Wizards, and Celtics.

Celtics leading assist man: Rondo 14 assists

"Ray made the big shots for us tonight," point guard Rajon Rondo said. "It was a team effort, but when we needed a bucket the ball seemed to find Ray."


The ball found Ray because Rondo is just that good.  Ray Allen had a team high 27 points with three 3's.

Celtics shoot 45% and the Bobcats 42%

Celtics edge out Wizards 43-42 on the glass

"Paul carried us," said Ray Allen, who left after jamming his left ankle in the first half. "He played great for us. The team, everybody rallied behind him."


Mr. Pierce scored a team high 34 points in Rondo's absence.

Celtics top rebounder: Bass 9

Celtics shoot 51% and the Wizards 48%

"It's all about confidence. Sometimes I would go into the game thinking twice about shooting. Now, if I'm open, I'm open and I'll shoot it. I've been making them," said Bradley, whose previous high was 20 points. "I was fortunate enough for my teammates to find me in transition and give me the ball and I made shots."


Paul Pierce added 21 points and eight rebounds, Rajon Rondo had 11 assists, and Kevin Garnett finished with 10 points and six assists for the Celtics, who shot 22 for 34 (65 percent) in the first half.

The Celtics won the season series against the 20-46 Wizards, but they really under played the Wizards last season. I hope the C's take care of business once again against the Wizards, but more dominate.
