Question of the Day: Allen experiment put on hold, can he last if he returns?

Posted by shawn cassidy on April 28, 2012 at 11:50 AM

Allen came off the bench for four games before his latest ankle relapse, and  Ray averaged nearly 32 minutes a game. The Celtics won three of those games, including big games  in Indiana and Miami. It looked like the Celtics got their man off the bench. Something they have been really missing since Posey in 2008. I know Ray ended a few of those games in the 4th, but he was hot in those games. Doc was riding his hot hand. It seems like the Ray Allen  experiment may not happen. As his ankle needs surgery, and he won't be even close to a 100%. Last season the Celtics stuck Shaq out there in a ditch effort to keep the season alive after falling down 0-2 to the Heat in the second round. Shaq only played two games in the playoffs, and he was done after issues came up in game four. I can promise that Ray will have his Shaq moment, but can he last past that point?

Ray may give us more than Shaq did, but basically, he is done.

Yeah, he's done. Hate to see this happen. He might pull off. A shocker.

Do not risk Allen VS Atlanta. If we can't beat them w/o him then we don't deserve to move on. I feel Ray will bury the Bulls for us. There is no way he will check out with this more than likely being his last season with the team that brought him a championship.
