Question of the Day: Allen experiment put on hold, can he last if he returns?
|

Allen came off the bench for four games before his latest ankle relapse, and Ray averaged nearly 32 minutes a game. The Celtics won three of those games, including big games in Indiana and Miami. It looked like the Celtics got their man off the bench. Something they have been really missing since Posey in 2008. I know Ray ended a few of those games in the 4th, but he was hot in those games. Doc was riding his hot hand. It seems like the Ray Allen experiment may not happen. As his ankle needs surgery, and he won't be even close to a 100%. Last season the Celtics stuck Shaq out there in a ditch effort to keep the season alive after falling down 0-2 to the Heat in the second round. Shaq only played two games in the playoffs, and he was done after issues came up in game four. I can promise that Ray will have his Shaq moment, but can he last past that point?
