NBA Quick Hits- (Links of the day-Quotes of the day)Can Miami really sign Nene?

Posted by shawn cassidy on November 29, 2011 at 2:25 PM

YAY! I can finally go back to posting Quick hits everyday!

Nene, 29, has long coveted Miami and Dallas as landing spots, but would have to force his way to one of those teams via a sign-and-trade since both are well over the cap. And whereas LeBron James was able to get a max deal through a sign-and-trade when he went from Cleveland to Miami, Nene would have to settle for a four-year deal with 4.5 percent raises under the new system in such an arrangement. Can they afford him? Will he take a mid-level deal? He's 29,and he's looking for that last payday. It really depends on his state of mind. Does he want money,or a chance at a title. Nene would be a major pick-up for the Heat.

Kobe Bryant is the best Laker ever? Shaquille O’Neal thinks so-Link YAHOO

Yahoo:

Shaquille O'Neal is full of surprises. Actually, more accurately, he's full of things that will help sell his book and cement his legacy. Wherever the two may roam.

So when Shaq talks about Kobe Bryant as the "greatest Laker of all time," well, where does this come from? O'Neal spent his entire Los Angeles Laker reign carping about not getting the ball enough from Kobe, while the two worked together from 1996 to 2004, and though time heals all wounds (and wounds all heels), can we really take the Diesel at his word?

It's obvious now that Shaq was right all along. Imagine if he'd had Rondo feeding him in his prime. Hello record books.
