Deal is off (of course) and Danny wants Doc back

Well I think it's offical the deal is dead. What happens now? Who really wanted this trade? Will Doc come back or step down? Still many questions hang out there, and it's unclear if will the answers that we want.

Danny Ainge has called Doc Rivers to tell him that talks are done, sources tell Y! Sports. Ainge told him he still wants him as coach.

Also ESPN reports:

The Los Angeles Clippers informed the Boston Celtics on Tuesday morning they are pulling out of talks to acquire Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers, sources told ESPN.

The teams have no plans to speak again, the sources said, and the Clippers are preparing to move on and hire a coach this week.

The talks broke down Tuesday morning when the Clippers "refused to budge" on Boston's latest proposal that asked for DeAndre Jordan, straight up for Garnett, and two first-round draft picks as compensation for allowing Rivers out of the final three-years and $21 million of his contract.

The Clippers will now go forward with second interviews of Byron Scott on Tuesday and Brian Shaw on Wednesday, where each will meet with owner Donald Sterling. Lionel Hollins had a two-day interview in which he met with Sterling last week.

Clippers sources say the team expects to hire a coach by the end of this week, or early next week.

I think Danny saying he called Doc up to see he wants him back was his way of doing damage control with the media a bit. It's hard for me to see Doc coming back after this point. Unless they spin it very well, which I don't know if they can.

Rondo isn't gonna look at doc or kg the same for even flirting with this. I honestly don't know where we go from here but for sure we better bring paul back. That will atleast take some attention away from this circus that we had going on but I wonder what free agents like josh smith and al jefferson are thinking about the celtics now i'm pretty sure the marguee free agents won't be considering a team with a coach that wants to leave mid contract. Either way I want to hear what rondo has to say and I don't really see him listening to doc after this and doc will be afraid to coach rondo because he knows if he coaches too hard rondo will have something slick to say.

Doc will have to walk away. My biggest concern is KG, what was his part in all of this?
