Rondo coming back on January 17th?

There's a rumor that's spreading around in the NBA that says Rondo is coming back on 17th January against the Lakers.

Rondo said just a few days ago that he'll be back before the All star game, but he didn't give us any date.

At the same time, he said he's feeling a lot better:

“I feel like I’m ready now, but I’m not in shape,” he said. “I can go out there and I can give the team 10 minutes. I want to be productive out there. I don’t want to limp or drag behind because of my cardio. That would be hurting the team".

I still think he'll never give us a precise date, that he'll just show up one day with his uniform on and play.

I'm at a point right now where the date I was expecting, mid December, is far behind us, and I stopped looking at the news every ten minutes hoping to se a date, a sign, telling me that he'll play tonight. I'm just here waiting: I trust him and his instincts - he'll know when he's ready.

Anyway, I can't hide that when I read that headline, my heart lost a beat: 17th of January is my birthday, I don't think I could ask for a better present.

If that won't be the case, I'll keep waiting quietly.

Then all the feelings will just explode when I'll see him back on the field.

I think when the date gets closer most of us will be refreshing twitter, and this site to see his return date. I feel the same way Morena.

It's gonna be exciting. There's basketball and then there's Rondo ball. Our young fellas are in for a treat. But two things will be key. We need to see Rondo expending some energy digging in on D, and we need to see him pushing the ball up the court. If we don't see those things, I suspect the joy will turn to tears. But if we see a Rondo who digs in on D more, and who pushes the ball in transition more, and if on top of that he starts hitting more Js and 3s, watch out Chris effing Paul...
