After Brad Stevens some days ago said that Rondo could spend some time in D-League to play and keep the comeback from his ACL injury, Ainge spoke today about this matter and gave us some new details:
"He’s anxious to practice and to play. It was his idea to go practice with the Red Claws and possibly play with them at some point," president of basketball operations Danny Ainge told 98.5 The Sports Hub Thursday morning. "But those are still in discussion. I’m not sure when he would do that, but that’s probably the next step. Rajon is very sensitive to not being a detriment to his team, and coming back and playing without really playing. I think he wants to get some of the rust off and not hurt his team when he gets back."
Every day, this guy shows signs of improvement, and not only physicals, but as a person and as a leader.
It's not everyday to find a star player that wants to play in D-League to make sure he's ready.
This is what I was talking about yesterday when I said I'm everyday more proud of him.
He's gonna be the face of our franchise, and I'm really happy about that.
