Doc calls his players "delusional"

Doc is a good coach, I won't say he isn't. He's a players coach, or a veterans coach in many ways. Doc is a honest coach with the media and his players when it comes to how they play or where they stand. He's not honest in my view with other things, but he won't allow his teams to be okay with where there at.

ESPN

A day after a blowout loss to the visiting Phoenix Suns, some Los Angeles Clippers players said the team was still adjusting to being the hunted rather than hunters this season.

Coach Doc Rivers believes any team that hasn't won a championship and thinks it's hunted is "delusional."

"There's only one hunted team -- Miami," Rivers said. "That's it. I mean, c'mon. If we think we're the hunted, they have no idea what the hunted is. I've been on a hunted team before and that's the year after you win a title. That team is hunted. All the other teams are delusional if they think they are."

I'll be honest, and maybe I'm being to extreme, but I dislike Chris Paul. Maybe it's him being a rival of Rondo, but something about Chris Paul bugs me. I just don't like him, maybe it's the way he's a sweetheart in the eyes of many. Didn't Chris Paul in many ways pull a Melo or Dwight Howard? Those two got a public lashing in how they handled their situations. Paul has been forgiven, and it hasn't been made a big deal. As the Clippers roster stands. I don't see them as contenders. The West is deep, but I think the Clippers are just not there when it comes to winning it all.

The Clippers are 4th in the West at 22-12, and the Clippers are two games away from being 8th or out of the playoffs in the West. The West is deep, and I think the Clippers are not there as a team yet, or maybe this isn't the core that will win.

I think folks who really know the game - I guess we all have our own ideas about who those folks are - know that there are really two point guards in this game - Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo (Curry knocking on the door, of course). The difference between them is a chip. Doc has determined that yanking on Chris Paul's chain over that is the key to this season.
