In my opinion, the third best team in the east, has been a tie between the pistons, hawks and the celtics. But, as of today, the hawks have shut down Al Hortford on a chest injury, indefinitely. That may have taken the hawks out of contention all together. Al Hortford is a multiple all star who was having a great year leading his team in scoring at 18.6 ppg.
They're going to miss that 19 points in the paint, because they were a top 10 offense utilizing the explosive front court of Hortford and Paul Milsap (2nd leading scorer) on the smaller east coast front courts. I considered their size to be their biggest advantage that frustrated opponents and it led to a division lead and steady position at the three seed, expect that to change.
Now, I believe the celtics are better with or without him, I think between Sullinger and O'lynyk we can take care of any low post threat, ask Al Jefferson. But, it is kind of cool how the east will be wide open while Rondo's getting ready to return to a playoff seeded team.
