With the Hawks 15-12, and third in the Eastern Conference. You can bank on them getting the Nets lottery pick. I still have hope that the Hawks fall apart at some point, their schedule has been easy, so maybe they go on a major losing streak, oh that would be nice.
Brooklyn will convey the less favorable of its 2014 1st round pick and Atlanta's 2014 1st round pick to Boston (via Atlanta's right to swap for Brooklyn) [Atlanta-Brooklyn, 7/11/2012 and then Boston-Brooklyn, 7/12/2013]
Like I was saying, the best case scenario for the Celtics pick-wise is if the Nets and Hawks are both lottery teams because we'll get a lottery selection out of it either way. An interesting rule is that the league determines which pick is "better" after the lottery. So if one of these picks wins the lottery and goes into the top 3, that will be looked at as the "better" pick even if it belonged to the team with the higher win total.
It doesn't seem like the Celtics will be able to enjoy the Nets lottery pick this season, but who knows. The picks that will help the Celtics will be 2016,2017, and 2018. The Nets should be bad by that point, and it's very possible they never recover from this season.
