The Pistons rallied from a 21-point first-half deficit, to beat Boston, 107-106. The Pistons were still up seven with little more than three minutes to go when Boston went on one last run. The Celtics generated a couple timely second-chance baskets. Sullinger had a tip-in, then -- after Wallace drew a foul hustling for an offensive rebound, just like "Crash" does -- Sullinger drilled a 3-pointer with 61 seconds remaining that gave Boston a 105-104 lead. Jennings answered with a 3-pointer of his own and Boston had a chance to tie, but Sullinger missed one of his free throws that would have tied the game . The Celtics got the ball back with a chance to win, but Jeff Green's strong drive on Smith ended with a off-the-mark layup.
Sullinger had a team-high 19 points. Jordan Crawford added 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds for Boston. The Celtics lost this game because of the turnovers. The Celtics beat themselves tonight, they should have walked out of the Garden winners, but the Pistons scored 30 points off of turnovers, and that did the Celtics in. The Celtics won the glass 41-36 against two giants in the middle for the Pistons. The Celtics will have two days to reflect on this loss, as they face the Wizards Saturday night in Boston.
