Humphries shows up when called on

I keep going back to my initial thoughts of Humphries when the trade went down. I wasn't sure about him, I didn't like him honestly. At this point, those feelings are gone. I like his game, and his hardworking approach to the game. He seems to always come in and impact the game in some way. The numbers may not always show, but for the amount of time that he plays, the numbers aren't bad at all. The loss of Humphries had impacted the Celtics in my book, with his return Monday night. Brad Stevens wasted no time using Kris off the bench.

Humphries has been solid whenever he has been called upon, something that is not lost on Stevens.

"My admiration for guys usually goes to the guys that don't get opportunities because they have to deal with stuff that's harder than being the guy that plays the minutes," Stevens said. "And so, you know, I thoroughly respect those guys that are sitting. And when their time comes, nobody's rooting harder for them than me for them to take advantage of it."

Which is exactly what Humphries has been doing all season.

And while he makes it look as though it's not that big a challenge, he readily admits it can be trying at times.

"That's the hardest thing in the NBA," Humphries said. "Being ready to play, staying ready mentally, physically, all those things."

Humprhies played in place for Bass for a good portion of the night. With Bass in foul trouble, and Hump came up with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Humphries was also a team best +14 on the night. His 18 point game against Denver has been his highlight all year, but this one shouldn't be that far off. He pitched in against Love, and that alone needs some love from the fans.

I love this guy. He's still at the age to get one decent Size contract. In certian games I actually like Hump over Bass, because of his ability to bang, and to rebound.

Hump was banging alot defensively and clearing the boards. At the end of his contract i'd love to resign him for a cheaper rate but if he wants what he's getting now then he can leave.
