Celtics Title Town

Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Feeling like a kid, again

Posted by Morena on December 15, 2013 at 8:20 AM

I had to check the calendar to make sure it was not the 25th of December.

As every weekend, I woke up, had breakfast, and turned on my computer to check the events of the night.

Celtics Title Town is one of those pages that I open on my web page.

The first news was: Rondo cleared for full contact in practice.

I instantly felt my blood running faster in my veins, as a rush of adrenaline went through my body. A big smile made his way on my lips and my eyes grew bigger, instantly awake.

I reminded myself of a little child that wakes up on Christmas and sees all the presents under the tree.

I jumped on my chair and immediately started to read news about this.

I know that this doesn’t mean he’s ready to play, but it’s a big jump ahead. It’s like when you have to inaugurate a building: when you cut the ribbon doesn’t mean that you’ll immediately start to use this building, but it means that the building is ready to be used. Ok, that’s probably not a very nice comparison, but I think it gives the idea of the point we’re at.

This will sure help him mentally: it’s like when you’re doing a marathon and you see the finish line getting closer. Coming back from this kind of injury can probably be compared to a marathon for someone that’s not used to running, the effort is the same. When you know you’re almost at the end of the road, the crowd is louder, your muscles ache, but you can feel a little energy running through your body, and you lose consciousness of what’s happening around you, your focus is just on that small line that becomes bigger and bigger with every step.

That’s how I imagine Rondo must feel right now. Everybody is talking about him and is watching him, but I bet he’s focused on his practice, determined to come back, and come back strong. I think that this step will give him a boost of mental energy.

And while our anticipation keeps growing, he’s working hard to be back on the court, and pick up exactly where he left. The earth is trembling, smoke is coming out from the rim. The volcano woke up. It’s just a matter of days until we’ll have the chance to see his fire once again.
