Record: 10-14

Another one of those game that you lost and you don’t really know why. Ok, we really didn’t shot the ball well, but other than that, the numbers look once again pretty good.

It’s been an emotional night, but the fire inside the Garden just wasn’t enough to win. Once again, we run out of gas, as we finished the second quarter ahead of six points, but we weren’t able to confirm ourselves in the second half and we ended up losing by eight points. As Stevens said after the game, we also paid a lack of size. The problem in the last couple of years, has been the absence of some big guys. Lob city, as they called the Clippers, took advantage of this and literally killed us in the paint, scoring almost twice the points we did. Stevens said he should have put Vitor in earlier, and once again, it’s nice to see that the coach isn’t afraid to say he made a mistake. Kelly also could have helped with his 7 foot.

Like last night, the five starter didn’t play bad. Other than Bass, everyone’s shooting percentage was low, but they still played hard. Our forwards had a tough matchup against Blake Griffin, and we weren’t really able to stop him.

Green was fired up by the atmosphere and he fed off from the crowd energy scoring a team-high 29 points to go with 4 rebounds. After what I said yesterday, I was happy to notice that he got to the line a lot more that in the previous games. He almost played the whole game, taking a lot of shots and with a good success from the three point line.

Brandon Bass completed his transition from solid player to very solid player – rebound machine. He’s officially the second best rebounder on the team behind Sully, even if lately he’s always leading the team in boards. He also scored 17 points shooting 50%. He never or rarely attempt shots behind the three point line, but he keeps attacking the basket.

Sully’s shooting percentage is a little bit of as of lately, but he keeps playing hard, no matter what. Last night, he got in foul trouble a little bit. Sully sometimes plays a physical game, and the athleticism of clippers team created some problems. We needed someone to establish his presence in the paint, and that’s what Sully probably tried to do. In fact, he had three foul in the third quarter alone, when the game started to slip out of our hands.

Our backcourt of Bradley and Crawford combined for 28 points on 10for25 shooting. It was a tough night, especially for Bradley, who shot 37% from the field. Then again, after last night game against Deron William, they had another hard matchup against what is considered the best point guard in the league. Not by me anyway. But Chris Paul is a great player, and it’s never easy to play against him.

Once again, what decided the game is the bench. In the second half, when we needed help from our bench, we got just four points, and our second unit got outscored 34to4. Jamal Crawford and Darren Collison killed us, especially in the fourth quarter. Our guys were also responsible for 8 turnover, and Courtney Lee managed to foul out in just 14 minutes of play. Had those guy stepped up their game, we could had won the game.

Day off tonight. Let’s rest those legs for the Knicks!!
