Jamal Crawford went into tonights game, leading the NBA in 4th quarter points averaging 7 in the final quarter. He made the Celtics pay in the final minutes hitting back-to-back three's to extend the Clippers to 8, and the Celtics couldn't survive that attack by Jamal Crawford. The Celtics had the lead for a good chunk of the night, they had a 45-39 halftime lead, and they hung around in the 4th coming within 2 points more then a few times.
Chris Paul nearly had a triple-double (team-high 22 points, nine assists, seven rebounds), and Jamal Crawford made big shots off the bench to chip in 21 points. Jeff Green scored a game-high 29 points on 10-of-23 shooting for the Celtics, while Brandon Bass added a double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Jared Sullinger nearly did the same (10 points, 9 rebounds). Jordan Crawford had 20 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds over 39 minutes.
I'm not a guy who blames the refs, and I don't know if they hurt the outcome of this one, but they were very inconsistent, and I wasn't thrilled with about 10 calls. The Clippers took 34 free throws to Boston's 19. The Celtics couldn't score the ball in the paint with just 24, but to be fair it goes back to the refs not calling many Jeff Green plays. Jeff was attacking all night, and he wasn't rewarded often. The Celtics lost both games during the reunion week, and now they hang to a short lead in the Atlantic following both losses.
