Boston jumped out to an early 12-5 lead in the first quarter, but then the Nets started to post up Brook Lopez and that opened the game up for the Nets. The Nets led 31-20 after the first quarter. Another aspect to this game was the return of Deron Williams who burnt the Celtics with a 25 point game and the Nets looked like the Nets that we all thought they would be. Lopez finished up with 24 points and the Nets fought off many Celtic runs in this game to finish them off with a 104-96 win.
The Celtics played hard, but the shots that have been falling didn't fall Tuesday in Brooklyn. The Celtics were blazing hot from three shooting 50% making 11 three-point bombs. Jordan Crawford finished with 15 points but off 6-of-14 shooting. He miss a lot of shots that he normally makes it was just one of those nights for Jordan. Avery was in a groove for most of the night he finished with 22 points. Jeff was 4-of-4 from three for 19 points.
The Celtics were solid with 9 turnovers on the night, and you can't complain about that at all. I guess the big story going into this game was the fact that KG and Pierce were facing their old team. It wasn't magical, and thats because the game was in Brooklyn. Paul finished with 4 points off the bench, and KG was solid with 11 points, and 9 rebounds in 26 minutes of work. The Celtics will return home tomorrow night to see Doc and the Clippers.
