I didn’t have the chance to write after the big win against the Cavaliers, but even if I was really happy, I wasn’t really excited. When the numbers are that good, usually it’s not all about you, but it’s also the other team fault. And then, the following day, I wake up and I see that we lost against a team with a now 3-13 record and a 11 games losing streak going on. Honestly I’m a little disappointed, this was a game we should have won, but at the same time, I know we’re still developing chemistry and that’s the big reason for our inconsistency.
This time around we came out of the gate strong, shooting almost 60% for 27 points, but we wasted our 8 point lead in the second quarter, when once again, we dig ourselves an hole that in the end would cost us the game. That, and their three point shooting, that literally killed us: 47% is a good shooting percentage, but if you think that that’s only the three point shooting, it’s jaw-dropping.
Truth is, looking at the box score, we didn’t even played bad.
I love Green stat line: 18 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assist. Not only he scored a lot of points shooting the ball pretty well, but he also moved the ball well taking good care of it. As of right now, I still have a mixed opinion about Green: I still believe he’s a really good player, but he’s not one of those guys that flourish under pressure. He plays really well under the radar, but when the spot light is on him, he often freezes. But if that’s the case, I don’t mind it. When Rondo will be back, he’ll be the leader and the one that everyone will look at during the games, and Green can take a big advantage of that.
A guy that instead seems to play well under pressure is Sullinger. Jared just seems solid as a rock. Even last night, he’s been consistent throughout the whole game. He finished with a double-double leading the team in points and rebounds with 21 and 14. He got a flagrant foul, but as I already said, I like him playing a little hard from time to time. I want the other team to know they can’t mess with us. Sully is a big, strong and talented guys.
Jordan Crawford keeps delivering quietly. After the triple double against the Cavaliers, he finished last night game with 18 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists. The shooting percentage was a little off, but he seemed to fight the whole game, and he’s another one of those guys that is doing this since the beginning of the year, and he’s what I have in my mind when I said that I want guys from last year team to step up. H joined the Celtics team later last year, but he seems to understand what the Celtics are all about.
It was a tough nigh for Avery Bradley, who finished with 9 points shooting just 26 percent, fouling out in the fourth quarter.
We need more from our bench. Vitor started the game in the best way, scoring six points in four minutes, but then he added just one point. Truth to be told, he didn’t played a lot of minutes. Honestly, I don’t get to understand Wallace game just from looking at the box score. Four rebounds, four assist and a couple of steals to go with no points. A part from one game, he usually scores just a few points, and he has numbers that I expect more from a little guard, and not from a 6’7’’ – 220 lbs guy. I would have been curious to see MarShron play more minutes. He scored 4 points and grabbed 2 boards in four minutes. Maybe nothing would have changed, but he did good while on the field.
Now we have a couple of days to rest and than we’ll take on the buck again at home, and I’m looking for a revenge. I hope that with two more days, Kelly will feel better and will be able to play. He was pretty solid and I think our team is really missing his contribution. I can’t wait for him to be back!!
Let’s go Celtics!!
