The talkin' box score: Memphis Grizzlies - Boston Celtics 100-93

Record: 6-11

Stevens already said it more than once: we're not able to play 48 minutes yet, and that cost us a good number of games since the beginning of the season. We did it against charlotte, but we were able to come away with a win in the end. But memphis is a much solid team, and we weren't able to come out of the 14 points hole we dig for ourselves. What hurt the most is that we scored more than them in every quarter, but that damn first one. I don't know what's wrong with us, but coming out of the locker room, first of third quarter, it depends from the night, we lack energy and we end up being outplayed by our opponent. There are not many team in the league that allow you to sleep 12 minutes.

The one player that has been consistent throughout the whole game has been Green. Another really good game from Jeff, who finished with a team high 26 points, 7 rebound and no turnover. We couldn't have asked for more from him, who scored 8 of the team 13 points in the first quarter.

I love being able to write about another big game from Sully. I'd really like to be able to see the games, but there are some things that I really have losing, and Sully is one of them. Last night it didn't look like he was having a very good game, when at the end of the third quarter he had 6 points, 6 rebounds and 4 turnover. But then, he was able to overcome whatever problem he was having, and he just exploded in the last quarter scoring 17 points and grabbing 6 more rebounds with 2 assists. That's not what rookies normally do!! I still consider Sully a rookie because he missed a big part of last year season, but it really looks like he literally absorbed everything he saw from the veterans. For a young guy to step up like that, especially down the stretch, is huge. Now I understand what Rondo meant when talking about Jared he said he was the smartest rookie he'd ever played with. Sully is not just solid rebounding anymore, he's being consistent and he's taking responsibility on defense. With the departure of garnett, we knew we were losing a defensive leader, and already lacking a center in the last couple of years, it could have been a disaster. Instead, Sully is stepping up big time, and at 22 years of age. You'll probably be tired by now of reading about me drooling over Sully, but excitement is over the moon for this guy.

Bradley posted sixteen points shooting the ball pretty well, but had also 4 turnovers, while Crawford, after a big scoring night last night, shot 2for8 for 5 points to go with 7 assists.

Our bench didn't come up as big as it did during the game with charlotte, but we still had some help from Vitor and Humphries. Wallace wasn't able to replicate his amazing game from the night before, scoring just two points, but the big shadow off the bench is Lee. His box score tell me he played almost ten minutes and all he did was pick up two personal foul and a turnover. That's probably the worst stat kind I've ever seen, for real.

I'm still waiting for some guys to really step up and do that in a consistent way, but it's just not happening.

With the cavaliers tomorrow we have the chance to get a win. Let's not waste it.
