The talkin' box score: Boston Celtics - Orlando Magic 120-105

Posted by Morena on November 12, 2013 at 3:25 PM

Record: 4-4

Our record is even once again. We are off to a new start now and things are pretty interesting.

I expected things to be a little more difficult last night. We played the Magic just a few days ago to gain the second win of our 2013 season and it was a close game. Last night we won every quarter of the game, and even if we had a big lead in the fourth quarter, we finished off strong.

I like this attitude. It’s something we lacked more than once last year and it’s nice to see our guys fight all the way until the end of the game.

Great overall performance by our starting five, and our bench guys were able to confirm themselves. Green showed up once again, and it’s safe to say that he just needed to get going, and from now on, he will be this kind of player, the one we wanted and needed. I know my opinion on him has been pretty up and down, but that’s because I always expect a big game from him and sometimes I’ve been disappointed. I want him to keep playing like this, so that my opinion on him will solid as his game in the last few games.

Great game by Kelly last night!! My eyes were basically shining when I looked at the box score this morning. It’s true that when all the team is playing well, it gets easier to play a good basketball, but Kelly seemed to have improved so much in such a few games that it’s almost incredible!! Team high 7 rebounds, 16 points and once again a very good number of assists. I’m really loving what I’m seeing from Kelly so far. I still expect a rollercoaster season from him but I’m so excited about him right now that all I can really think about is the way he is improving and what he can be when Rondo will finally be back!!

Better than Olynyk, was the stat line of Crawford: 16-5-10. And all this while shooting 58% and without a single turnover playing point guard in a team that is playing together for just a couple of months. From the numbers, I can say he was dominant during yesterday game. It’s really great to see Crawford playing point guard like this. Even when Rondo will be back, he will need a strong backup point guard, considering that at the beginning he won’t probably have e lot of minutes in the legs. Phil Pressey still has a lot of learning to do and we need someone who can allow Rondo to catch his breath without worrying about going back to the court as soon as possible while on the bench.

Wallace is really doing great off the bench. He scored just one point in yesterday game, but I can tell from the number that he plays smart. He gets assists, rebounds and even three steals. And he even had the best +/- of the team. He was wrong calling out the team for playing selfish at the beginning of the year, but it’s nice to see that he’s doing on the field what he asked for from his teammates. We always say that a leader must lead from example, and that’s exactly what he’s doing right now. Sully is also helping a lot from the bench, another solid game from him. I’m really happy because I really like Sully and it’s nice to see that he’s able to play a good amounts of minutes off the bench helping the team with scoring and rebounding. His personal foul number is low, so he’s probably becoming smarter because that’s something that often affected him last year.

Our top scorer last night was Bradley. And if we needed another evidence that he is a shooting guard, just look at last night box score: 24 points, 0 assist, 3 turnovers. But as long as he keeps scoring like this and if he keeps playing defense like we know he can do, that’s good enough.

We have a good chance tomorrow night to keep alive our winning streak, but we can’t take anything for granted. I like the culture that Stevens is bringing. Let’s keep this up.

I like the part when u said your eyes were shining. Wallace was wrong. Stevens has proven to be a great coach. I think he doesn't get rattled easy.
