Ainge says Celtics have talked extension with Bradley

Avery has shown a steady improvement so far in preseason action. His jumper looks solid, and he seems to have the corner three locked down. His defense has been perfection as well, and let's not forget his improvement at the point guard position. I think this will be another season that we won't see the AB that we deserve. He'll be covering Rondo's job with some help of course, but he won't be able to be himself until Rondo returns. This is a big year for AB, we all know he's up for an extension, and it sounds like it's been discussed.

Team president Danny Ainge, speaking prior to the Celtics Shamrock Foundation's annual gala, said he has had talks this month with Avery Bradley's representatives about extending the 6-foot-2 guard's contract.

Ainge declined to address where those talks stand now, but all indications are that both sides will wait until Bradley becomes a restricted free agent this summer to work out a new deal.

Bradley, who is due to earn $2.51 million this season,  has also remained mum on the topic, preferring to instead focus on doing his part to help the Celtics through this transition period.

"I really don't focus on that," Bradley said earlier when asked about his impending free agency if a contract extension isn't reached. "I just focus on winning games, doing what I can do for my team. I can't wait for the season start."

I'm still a bit cautious on big money, or over paying Bradley. If he can continue to nail the open jumper, and if he becomes the ultimate package on the defensive end, then by all means please sign him. He's played better then I thought he would so far,and I can't wait to see what he can do when Rajon returns.
