Celtics-Knicks Preseason Game 4 Recap

Posted by Yenu on October 12, 2013 at 10:30 PM

Starting Lineup: Bradley, Crawford, Green, Sullinger, Bass

1st quarter

  • Team seemed poised from the start with a 10-0 run
  • started the game going 4 for 4 from the 3pt line
  • Crawford seemed to run the offense well as point guard, played whole first quarter after being only player with a positive +/- on court the last game
  • Defense was stingy and help defense was better than it has been
2nd quarter NY 15 Bos 28
  • Mediocre scoring brought the lead down to 3 with 2 minutes left
Halftime NY 43 Bos 52
3rd quarter
  • Team shared the ball well and all members of the first team played with aggressive effort on both sides
  • Offense looked its best so far this preseason, with the ball moving quicker side to side with a sense of direction and purpose
  • Celtics built a 18 point lead
4th quarter NY 67 Bos 83
  • Momentum carried into the 4th with the bench scoring (Brooks, Olynyk)
  • Team extended lead to 37
  • By the end of the game, the team had shot the ball 54%

Final Score NY 81 Bos 111

Key Players

  • Olynyk 15 pts 5/6 fg 6 reb 3 ast
  • Crawford 13 pts 7 reb 3 ast

Final thoughts: As I said, the team came out angry from the last game and played aggressive on both ends despite it being the second of a back to back. I'll have to note, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler didnt play this game, but i honestly dont think 15-20 points and 2 blocks would've been enough to withstand the young Celtics effort tonight.

Next Game 10-15-13 @ Brooklyn Nets                  God Bless

This was by far the best offensive effort, and Bradley was sharp pushing the tempo.

I too have been impressed with Bradley. He's not a point guard, but he's making with what he has.
