Knicks and Memphis look into Delonte West

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 28, 2013 at 2:05 AM

West may get his second chance, or maybe his third, and maybe he's 4th. I wouldn't be surprised if someone gives him one more chance.

The New York Knicks and the Memphis Grizzlies are on the lookout for a backup point guard and according to a source close to the situation, both teams have inquired about the services of Delonte West. The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, says talks between the two teams have ramped up recently, however they are termed as being “preliminary at this point” with no offers presented as of yet. West, 30, is driven to prove that he will be a model citizen and believes himself to be the missing piece to a team on the cusp of winning an NBA title. New York and Memphis fits the ideal situation he's looking for in an organization, another source told CSNNW.com. CSNNW.com

I wish people would stop demanding that he be a model citizen. It's not reasonable. I'm sorry, but he's an IDJIT!!!! I think the Knicks should hire him, but they should not have unreasonable expectations re. his behavior.

I think he can still play but he wouldn't fit in on a young team so memphis or new york would be good fits for him.

I think he could help them as long as they don't expect him to be someone other than himself

They have JR Smith who's a headcase, and Kenyon Martin. I think West is less of a headcase then those two. West shouldn't be asked to change, he's a team player. That's all they should care about.
