Danny has built a full roster. With 17 guys on the team at the moment. How will Danny cut the roster down to 15. Danny doesn't have many trades at the moment that could entice teams to bite. Bass, and Lee under performed last season, and they both make 5-7 million per season for the next handful of seasons. I would think Danny would start there, but the I can't see a team wanting to add one of them. Unless mid year one of those players stands out, but I'm not talking about the middle of the season. Danny needs to cut this roster before that. When I look at the roster, I see at least two players that have no purpose or meaning in Boston.
Jordan Crawford doesn't help a team like the Celtics going through a rebuilding, or reconstruction phase. They're already heavy on shooting guards, and small forward types. Who are frankly much better than Jordan Crawford. Jordan makes 2.2 a season on his expiring deal. Perhaps a contender wants him, a team would have to trade for him to absorb his deal. The Celtics wouldn't deal Crawford straight up. They need to shed the roster.
Another target would be Fab. His raw talent doesn't impress me at all. His 1.3 million could easily be traded right? Maybe, but who would want to take a chance on this guy. I honestly believe he's not getting any better. Maybe he will, but watching him in summer league was disappointing. I don't see it with Fab. The Celtics won't be able to trade any of the newbies until September 12th. I'm not sure if anyone wants them yet. Humphries makes 12 million a year on his final year. The Celtics will have difficulty trading him, unless they find a desperate buyer. He's in a contract year, and maybe the Celtics get the best of him,and maybe through a trade.
The bottom line is that Danny will deal a player or two. Do you guys have any trades? Who should stay, and who should go?
