Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Meet MarShon Brooks

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 16, 2013 at 5:20 AM

Brooks is coming off a forgettable 2012-13 season in which his stats plummeted to 5.4 points over 12.5 minutes per game. In his rookie season he earned All-Rookie second team honors, to go with a 12.6 PPG. Many Celtics fans were upset with Ainge for dealing his rights to Brooklyn for JuJuan Johnson, who was later traded by the C's.

Brooks could be a special player. It's truly up tom him if he wants to grow with this team ,and with a player of Rondo's caliber. It's possible Brooks had no chance this season when the Nets traded for Joe Johnson. Brooks took a backseat, and now he will compete for a starting job perhaps. Brooks should have some motivation coming into this season. The Celtics are overstocked with shooting guards at the moment. It should be a nice fight for the starting gig between Bradley and Brooks.

Meanwhile Rondo has to be thinking about Detroit, not what he should be thinking about, thanks to Danny's constant trade flirtation.

Brooks could be like a Jamal Crawford type someday. A nice 6th man option

Some real firepower off the bench.
