KG looking to bounce back against New York

It feels like it's been a very long time since we have seen KG. He played in the Orlando game, but only for 14 minutes. He miss the last game, and he missed the Heat game. Before that the Celtics rested him for nerly three weeks. The Celtics fell apart without him, and their hopes for home court died. Rest has always been the key for the Celtics. With Kevin missing so much time lately. It has been a issue getting KG going, or at least it could be a concern going into this series. Will KG be ready, his mind will be, but will his body?

Boston Herald

Kevin Garnett, by his own admission, was off his game after returning from his eight-game, ankle-related absence in the last month of the season.

After saying “I feel good, real good,” to a couple of questions about the state of himself and his game prior to yesterday’s practice at Columbia University, the Celtics center quickly moved on to other questions.

But as Doc Rivers later indicated, the “revitalize KG” project is ongoing. Rivers once again compared Garnett to — appropriately considering the city — his former Knicks teammate, Patrick Ewing.

“Kevin will be ready, just like (Tyson) Chandler will be ready,” said the Celtics coach. “And Kevin had more rest because of the ankle and he needed to sit. Because he had sat out games right before that, we would not have rested him, honestly, in probably over half the games he sat. With Kevin I’m always worried about rhythm.

“There’s no other player like Ewing, as far as when Patrick didn’t practice, we knew he was going to play awful,” said Rivers. “He just needed rhythm, and in Kevin I’ve never seen a player so much like that.”

I've said that the Celtics need Green to have a good series to win,but it's obvious that it's up to KG. He can't do it alone, but he's shown that his presence alone is vital. Kevin's body should be feeling good, or good as it can at this point. His rhythm is the big question.

I haven't posted here in ages. Crazy.

I think everybody will be ready for Game 1. Maybe now the guys will have a feeling of legitimately playing for a city and putting in that extra sweat for the name on the front. Let's do this!
