Doc said it before KG returned, and it's how KG is. Kevin is rusty after being back for two games. The Celtics know KG, and they want him to find himself again before the playoffs. They could have sat him until that time, but Kevin is a guy who needs to practice, and he needs to work with the guys. His strong work ethic has allowed him to stay in the NBA for all these years. KG looks off, and it's odd because he looked much better in the past game against Washington.
“Absolutely,” Garnett said of whether he needs to dissolve some rust. “I can be better, and I will be. I can be better in every part of my game. It’s not one decisive thing. My timing is off a little bit, and I will get that. I’m super anxious around the basket, hurrying shots.
“The second half I thought I was a lot better in motion and consistency, and being decisive in what I want to do. Sometimes I play against myself a little bit. The second half I just did a better job of settling in.”
Doc played Garnett 28 minutes against the Nets, and I don't see that minutes going past 32 minutes a night for KG when the playoffs start.
