Thoughts on the Celtics after three game losing streak

(Sorry about no posts after the Dallas game. I'm just getting over the flu)

After the three game skid. The Celtics have fallen off pace for the Atlantic crown. They have also fallen four games back of Brooklyn for the 4th seed. I think the Celtics should be good at the 6th or 7th spot. Grabbing the 5th seed means a potential match up with Miami in the 2nd round. The one good thing I could take from this game was the appearance of Brandon Bass. Bass had 16 points, and he found his rebounding with 11.

I think the up and down play thorough out the past three or so years can't be blamed on Rondo. I think that can be scratched off the list of reasons. I praised Doc a few days ago, but I think Doc has been let off the hook. I think he doesn't do a good enough job using his bench. Just when you think he finds the right combination of guys he goes away from it, or he doesn't know when to say it's not working. I think the loss to the Mavs was a combination of the Mavs fighting for their playoff lives, and just playing harder then the Celtics. The Celtics were out rebounded 48-38 in this one. Doc didn't use his bigs again.

The Celtics trailed virtually the entire night and spent most of the second half trying to chip away at a double-digit deficit. This team seems to fall in  holes, and in the end they never climb back in. I guess never is wrong. The Celtics have had their fair share of comebacks.

"I just thought we got lost a lot tonight on defense," sighed Rivers. "We gave up a 30-point quarter, which we don’t do.""I wasn't really happy with our defense, so we’ll have to clean that up," said Rivers."We got crushed in the 50/50 game [Friday]," said Rivers.

How do you get lost 68 games into the season on defense. I think came down to another poor effort. No passion, and no fire behind this game. I still don't understand how a Garnett lead team can play with no heart. This team seems to get up for the big games, and they treat the rest of these games like their nothing. The Celtics are the hardest team to understand. They play with heart, and guts one game, and the next they play with no heart, and no passion. I guess the Celtics will move onto Memphis tonight. What Celtics team will show up tonight?
