White, and Randolph showing worth in limited time

With KG out against the Bobcats Saturday, and with it being the Bobcats. Doc gave the two bigs who played in China a good run Saturday night. Randolph was solid with 8 aggressive rebounds along with 6 points in 15 minutes.White in 6 minutes had 6 points. White didn't play as well as Randolph or at maybe he just didn't get the minutes, but White has shown that he can score inside, and out. This was Randolph's longest run so far in his short stint with the Celtics this season. I think both guys will be on board for the playoff push which is great.
I like that these two bigs can play with short notice. I think the Celtics could use these guys in a series like Miami, and even New York. They can counter the bigs in New York, and they can force them on the small Heat if they need to. It was just one game, and yes it was against the Bobcats. But both players have played well in short minutes. I hope Doc isn't afraid to use them. He likes small ball, and the Celtics have been playing well with that style, but with the playoffs being a slower tempo. White, and Randolph could be big for the Celtics.
"He was great," head coach Doc Rivers said of Randolph. "I thought he just came in and made things happen. Rebounded the heck out of the ball -- both ends, offense and defense. Threw his body around. It was good. Made a couple great passes, just instinctive cuts to the basket. So I was really happy with that."
Randolph is one of those bigs who hustles, and you know he wants to stick with the Celtics. He was a rebounding big, and that's a need here in Boston.
"There's a lot of great players on this team, and my role is just to play off them," Randolph said. "It's very simple, it's not that hard. My goal is to try to rebound everything I can get my hands on and, if I'm given an open shot, try to hit it, and when I get around the basket, try to finish opportunistically, and that's what I'm going to try to do."
This guy gets it, and it's what the Celtics need. If he can actually do it every night, or on a consistent basis. This guy will play, and Doc will have the option to go big without regrets.
