Celtics Title Town

Store up for a while with things you might need. Just for 6 months. As the NBA turns the lights off, so can  they hit the road until Fall. They have declared that nobody can beat the Miami Heat. They've won 18 games in a row, and that's a guaranteed NBA championship when Lebron is on your team. Were all wasting our time watching basketball if this is the outcome, which it will be. Hold on for a second. Take what I said, and forget it.  Yes the Miami Heat are winning games with ease, and with decisive blows that shake up egos on other teams. The Heat are in an elite class right now with an 18 game winning streak.

Out of the 14 teams before them who have won 18 or more in a row. Only 6 have went on to win an NBA title. If you move lower a bit, and run through the teams who've won 17 in a row. Out of 5 of these teams only the 1960 Celtics won an NBA title with a 17 game winning streak. I should give kudos to a team dominating right now. I should put aside my dislike,and hate for James, and his team from Florida. But it's hard to give credit to this man, and for me that feeling will never pass.

I will say this about the future of the Heat. With the new rules hitting because of the lockout. When will Riley and the Heat amnesty Chris Bosh? Will they even do that? Will they figure something else out to keep the Big Three together? Let's not forget Bosh's salary goes up every season, and hits 22 million in 2015. Bosh seems like the likely choice to get the ax in Miami.But what if they keep Bosh. They won't be able to go out, and sign free agents like Ray Allen, or Shane Battier, and maybe Mike Miller. Although Mike Miller hasn't been a driving force this season with Allen down there. Miller was a signing that allowed the Heat to pay him 6 million a season. The Heat will have to sign a bunch of guys on the veteran minimum contracts.

The Heat are scary, and they'll likely win the Eastern Conference. But I don't think it's an open and shut case for them. The Pacers, and Celtics know the Heat, and injuries are a bitch, and who knows what could happen from one game to the next. We play the games, and teams can find ways to upset larger than life teams it's been done before. It doesn't happen very often, but hey we watch for a reason. James will more than likely  win his 4th MVP in 2013. Winning streaks can mean nothing as we all know from the 19 game winning streak in 2009 by the Celtics. Of course an unforeseen injury to KG ended the Celtics title chances, so that doesn't hold well, but look at a team recently from 2008. The Rockets won 22 games in a row that season, and they didn't even make it past the first round. That won't happen to the Heat, but let's not forget that the Heat have won some controversial games during this long streak.

I guess you can call me the Bob Ryan of Miami haters, but I dislike the media for not thinking outside  of the box.Can we think of more ways of how the Heat could be taken down, instead of planning parades.James did get the monkey off his back, but like Jordan said to Ray Allen after the Celtics won in 2008. Anybody can get lucky and win a championship. James, and the Heat deserve to be clear favorites, but let's play the games and see what happens.
