KG continues to rack up the milestones

Posted by shawn cassidy on March 8, 2013 at 5:15 AM

What word hasn't been used already when talking about one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history. Words do not do you justice. No matter who tries, and attempts. Our progress through life is marked off by milestones. Some milestones may not be records, but something as simple as your favorite car hitting 100,000 miles. Milestone to milestone we pass through the stages. Birthday to birthday, twenty to thirty. Decade to decade, thirty to forty.

Tired and beat KG is reaching the peak. Hard work has driven him. Success has  pushed him. These huge mountains are apart of life some are harder to climb but all make you who you are.

Kevin Garnett, whose 13-rebound performance against Golden State Friday moved him past Hakeem Olajuwon into 11th place on the NBA’s all-time rebounding list, leapfrogged into 10th place with 10 rebounds against the Pacers last night.

This time he passed Wes Unseld. These are big names, as the Celtics center is well aware.

“Oh, man, you serious?” Garnett said with a slightly disbelieving laugh when informed of the legends he has passed. “Yeah, those are huge names, players I look up to. I’m kind of lost for words. I’m flattered. Hard work does pay off.”

Garnett now has 13,774 career rebounds.

Ninth place, held by Walt Bellamy with 14,241 boards, would be a bit more of a leap.

Wes Unseld was a huge rival of Cowens. Cowens the forgotten, useless, bad, awful, forgettable Celtics Great.

KG is the second Russell for the Cs.
