Brandon Bass is an undersized power forward. Jeff Green is technically an inch taller than Bass, but I suppose Bass has Green in the weight department. But when it comes down to a few factors. I think Doc should test out Green in the starting unit. First of all with two new guys on the Celtics roster. The C's have plenty of fire power off the bench. Williams, and Jordan can score the ball very well, and Williams can be a wing guy so he would virtually take Green's spot. Another factor on why Green should start? I believe he has many intangibles. Rondo is one of the best players in the league for that fact that he's got many intangibles, and I believe the Celtics get that with Green, and with Rondo gone. Green is taking over that role.
Another factor is that Green played 39 minutes, and it seems to be the best thing for Green. He impacted the game in a way that we've never seen here with him here in Boston. He put up 31 points, and he had an amazing five blocks. He also had a very solid 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. I think you can also make the argument that it doesn't matter who starts, but it matters who plays more. I think the Celtics need to play Green more than just 30 minutes a game. I think he should be playing 32-36 a night easily. I'm curious what everyone thinks about him starting. Because let's face it. Bass had a bigger role last season because we didn't have Green. Bass played 32 minutes, and he registered an okay 6 points with 6 rebounds. But as Doc pointed out. Green is "a matchup nightmare."
