Rumors: Celtics looking at a deal for Smith?

Gery Woelfel @GeryWoelfel I keep hearing Josh Smith's primary destination is Boston.

Smith makes 13 million a year. I was curious  to see what the Celtics would do to get Smith. Basically the Celtics will need to give up Lee, and Bass for Smith. Would you do that? I like Smith, and maybe it's worth it. But I think it could mess up what the Celtics have going. I have been a hard critic when it comes to Bass. I think a deal for Smith would be nice for Rondo, and it would mean more next season. But the deal could make an impact this season as well. It's hard to say. I haven't been impressed with Smith this season. He seems like a guy who falls in love with three-point shooting, or long jumpers. Smith is a small forward who can stretch as a power forward. Both Green, and Smith play similar ways. I really want to keep Green, and I think I may pass on Smith if Green is apart of the trade. This is a rumor, and I'll leave at that.

I agree with you on the Green thing. Both of those guys on the same team is deadly.

I don't want to part ways with lee. I love when he attacks the rim aggressively and can't wait to see what him and rondo would be able to do next year with more time together but for josh smith i'd say yes because he'd resign most likely because him and rondo are close and that'd leave us with rondo green and smith as our nucleus moving forward. Rondo with athletic guys on the wing and both of those guys would be able to take turns guarding lebron so we could really hide pierce on defense like we used to with posey and tony allen.

Imagine the amount of alleys rondo would throw. I saw about 2-3 alley oop opportunities to jeff green with bradley controlling the ball on the break tonight but he doesn't have the vision that rondo has.

If Ainge did this without trading Rondo, it would be a huge statement that the future is Rondo. But Rondo deserve that faith when he was so stubborn about his slow-down offense and his turnstile defense this year?

Smith is a boderline max guy in todays NBA. He's an all star type player who seems to get robbed everytime it must be the uniform he has on.

Can't pay him max, though. He has to be willing to settle for less. Rondo too, when his time comes back around.
