Celtics Title Town

It was true rope-a-dope by one of the ultimate fighters in NBA history. He spent most of the night on the ropes,bobbing, weaving, leaning back at an angle waiting for his time to take the prize. KG was in it all night. With great defense, and rebounding. KG had a season high 18 rebounds in 47 minutes of work Sunday night in Boston.

Each blow wearing him  out as much as it did them. Each pounding on his ribs after he went for rebound after rebound defending with a rabid intensity. He  can hear the voice inside urging himself  to just make it too the end of the game. KG is our security blanket. As long as he's a Celtic. I never count out the C's. We lost the brains, and the motor, but KG is the heart, and sometimes that's all you need.

"I know we're a bunch of fighters; we got a bunch of competitors," Garnett said. "We have a bunch of talent in here, future talent in here. A lot of guys in here can do great things. A lot of guys in here are going to be great in this league. It's all about putting it together and seeing what it can be together."

KG hit three shots in the final overtime after he struggled for most of the night. KG finished with 20 points.

Garnett is known for his ability to shoot from the perimeter, but Karl believes it has actually improved with time.

"I think it's about time that he gets respect that he can make the 21, 22-footer rather than - he's been an 18, 19-foot guy," Karl said. "It seems like Garnett has a huge heart and wanted to win the game and he made some big time shots."

His jumper has gotten better, and it's a testament of KG's work ethic, and want to stay in the NBA. He can post up still, and he can score inside. But for KG to last in the league he's developed one of the best shots in the NBA.
