Another frustrating game. The Celtics started this game perfect. As perfect as you can get. They rolled off a 17-0 run to being the game. Boston nailed 7 of their first 8 field goals. As the Bucks missed their first 6 shots. The Celtics held the Bucks to 11 points in the first quarter, and they had a 27-11 lead at the end of one. The Bucks rammed away, and exploded for a 36 point second quarter.
It was text book defense in the first quarter. And in the second quarter it was the chapter," what not do on defense".
I got over it after the Bucks got back into the game. It was a back, and forth all night. The Celtics blinked first, and they lost. But before Jennings hit the big three. The Celtics were down 85-82, and Green hit a big three, and than Pierce hit a three to give the Celtics a 88-85 lead. The Celtics wouldn't score again, and they missed two chances to tie the game in the final seconds with a missed three by Pierce, and Terry. I'm ready for Rondo to return, and the Celtics will make their road much harder if they continue to lose games they should win.
I'm tired of lackluster regular season efforts. Or half assed efforts. It was perfect in the first quarter, and the second half was decent. Home court just doesn't matter for this team, and it makes things harder later. I'll have more on the game later.
- Green finished with 18 points, and a solid game once again.
- Pierce did a bit of everything with 19 points, and 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.
- Celtics win the glass 43-42.
