What to make of the Celtics victory in Orlando

The Celtics put togther one of their worst defensive performances of the year. Doc said the Magic were tough, and that's the truth. The Celtics had their foot slightly on the gas, but they eased up like the highway patrol were behind them. The Celtics got the lead up to 12 a couple of times, but they couldn't put the dagger in the Magic. I think the Celtics played solid on the defensive side despite the Celtics giving up 102 at the end of regualation, and 110 for the game. But it still was one of the worst performances.

The three-point shooting for the Magic had me worried all night.  They made the Celtics feel after they nailed 11 for the night. Harkless hit a three at the start of the third, and Doc wasn't having any of it.

"I could see it right away, but I couldn't turn it around," Rivers told reporters after the game. "I called timeout at [10:57 remaining]. I could see it, but just because I can see it doesn’t mean it’s relayed or it goes through. I don’t think [Celtics players] believed it; I think they did by the fourth quarter."

The urgency continues to bug me, but if you think back to the past couple of seasons. The Celtics would have dropped that game.

"Overall, I thought we didn’t play very well," Rivers said. "I thought [the Magic] played great, they played hard. ... If you don’t [play] hard basketball, you’re not going to win [against Orlando], whether you have more talent or not. I thought that was a good lesson for our guys. We turned it around, I thought our execution won the game for us, and it should honestly."

I thought this lesson was learned? Haven't we seen this book before this season. Rondo was a master in the overtime, and that's the difference in a win, or a loss this season. In conclusion from Orlando, I'd have to say the Celtics won. They showed one thing. They won't giveaway games so easily this season to teams that shouldn't beat them. I'll give them that so far. But once they drop a game they should win, than were in trouble. The Celtics improved to 4-3 on the road this season.

I think we need to learn from what happened to Big Baby. Baby has proven that he has legitimate NBA Big Man talent. We should have nurtured that talent when he was here.

This team can't seem to get it through their heads that the time to coast is AFTER you put a team away. Just having them on the ropes isn't relax time.

Ill never get it, because they continue to allow teams back in.

They need to somehow get this. I think a lot of it emanates from Pierce.
