The Good, the Bad,and the Ugly: Game 7 vs the Bulls

The Good

:D The Celtics had 8 turnovers against a tough defense. Rondo had 5 of those turnovers, and honestly I didn't feel like  he had that many during the process of the game. The Celtics offense was rolling from the start. For most of the 1st half the Celtics were shooting over 60% from the field, and they put up a 33 point first quarter. As the Bulls defense picked up later in the game.

The Celtics cooled off, but they still finished the game shooting 50% for the night. The Celtics had a balanced attack for the most part. They scored 40 points in the paint, but they did become a little jumper happy during the 4th quarter. But as you know. Rondo connected with three big assists inside the paint in  the final minutes, and all of those were for easy dunks for KG, and Bass.

:D The defense was pretty strong for the most part. The Celtics forced 13 turnovers, and they held the Bulls to 45% shooting. On a good night the Celtics usually hold their opponents to 40-42% shooting. And they may force 15-17 turnovers. But the Bulls are a disciplined team on both sides of the ball. The defense didn't have staggering numbers, but the Celtics made key stops, and that's what matters most in the end.

:D The bench is playing pretty strong. Green didn't have the numbers, but he was aggressive, and he returned after a mild ankle sprain. His minutes were about 10 minutes less than what he's been playing. He finished with 7 points, and 5 solid rebounds. Overall the bench scored 27 points, and they played very aggressive even if they missed some shots. Wilcox has become a factor again with 7 points, and just 2 rebounds. But his defensive efforts are noted. Lee has adapted nicely to his role on the bench, and I think Doc has figured things out.

The Bad

:/Surprise the Celtics were out rebounded 40-34. The plus is? The Celtics weren't murdered on the glass. The Bulls are one of the best rebounding teams in the league. So to allow them to beat you by 6 is okay. But in the same sentence, the Celtics need to improve. And at this point. I don't see them doing so. It's a trend that has been around for years, and they seem unfazed by it. If they can't beat teams on the glass. They need to close the gap more than past seasons.

The Ugly

:/ The Celtics flirted with their first game of the season where they lose the game after having a large lead. The Celtics were up 14 points, and it seemed like they were on the verge of putting the Bulls away. But the opposite happened. The Bulls got within three points countless times in the 4th knocking on the door of upset.  Even though I thought the Celtics should have put the Bulls away by double digits. They still hung on to the win, and in past seasons this game had meltdown written all over it. But the Celtics shouldn't have allowed the Bulls back in.

if we don't do better on the glass, how do we become an uptempo team?
