No moral victories this season guys. I won't stand by it. The Celtics handed this game away on the defensive end. They allowed Ray Allen to treat them like dogs. He had some lucky bounces. Ray had 19 points off the bench, and he nailed two three's. The Celtics as a team gave up 50% from three, and 54% overall from the field.
So what cost the Celtics the game besides the defensive game? Doc went into the third quarter trying to slow the game down, and it back fired. The Celtics hung around for the entire first half, and they had the lead during the first, but like I said when the third quarter hit the Heat jumped on the Celtics. When the Celtics started to run again in the 4th. The Celtics chipped away at the Heat's 19 point lead. Barbosa, and Rondo were scary. Barbosa was better than advertised. Barbosa scored 16 points, and he shot 6-of-8 from the field, and he nailed three 3's.
The duo of James, and Wade scored a combined 55 points. James didn't return after he hit the jumper in the 4th that put the lead up 19.The duo of Rondo, and Pierce scored 43. Rondo had his moments, but I wanted more from him. Wade was playing pretty dirty, and he hooked Rondo, and they gave Wade the bucket. Rondo was given a Tech after the refs failed to blow their whistles. In the final seconds. Rondo got his shot in on Wade.
After sharing a hug with former coach Doc Rivers and greeting his staff, Allen reached across to pat Garnett on the back, but Garnett barely glanced in his direction.
I'll have more later on this game.
