"IN RONDO WE TRUST"

Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Rondo will compete for MVP this season

Scal says, "I think Rondo wins the MVP this year." He goes on to compare him to Kidd, but adds, "Here's the difference: Jason Kidd is a culture changer in the NBA."

If the Celtics have the best record in the East, or the best NBA record Rondo will win MVP. I think he still has a chance even if the Celtics finish lower than the top seed. What's working against Rondo? The media votes for the MVP. I don't like that. I think Rondo has a major handicap because of that. Hopefully the media sees past their distaste for him. Because he's deserving of the MVP award.

The main goal is winning a championship, but if he wins MVP, and the title it would be a dream season. I hope this season blows the 2008 feeling out of the water.

I think it will, Shawn. And I wonder what Scal is smoking when he says that Rondo isn't a culture changer? Look at Lebron and Wade imitating Rondo and tell me he isn't a culture changer

I fear that same way. He'll get screwed by the media.

He may make that impossible

I agree with both of you.
I don't understand how scal can say that Rondo isn't a culture changer.
In fact, I had to read the interview twice to believe what I was reading. Rondo is changing the game, even if not anybody can see this for the moment, it seems.

And I'm also worried about the media voting. It's true that if he's consistet throughout the whole season, he make that almost impossible. But I'm also conviced that if the media want to screw someone, you can't really stop them.

I don't think I've ever seen a pg being double teamed on the perimeter, not just trapped, but double teamed. The Heat are doing this to Rondo, and the Cs need to take advantage. I don't think they expected it - quite a compliment to Rondo. But take advantage, Rondo!
