Lakers News: Nash debuts, and Lakers fall in preseason opener

Posted by shawn cassidy on October 8, 2012 at 1:00 AM

Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace and Jordan Hill scored 10 points apiece for the Lakers. Steve Nash had five points and three assists in his Lakers debut. Dwight Howard sat out tonight's game because of his back.

The Lakers were beat down in the second half, but the likes of Kobe, and Nash didn't play a minute in the second half. Does that say something about their depth?

Bill Simmons tweeted this tonight.

https://twitter.com/sportsguy33" target="_blank">Bill Simmons @sportsguy33 Nash, Kobe and Gasol look fantastic together. I'm picking the Lakers to win the title and sweep Miami in the Finals.

This guy has no loyalty to Boston anymore. He says he does, but he lives in LA, and he cares about website hits, and that's it. I hate the Heat, but to say they'll lose  in the Finals 4-0 is down right questionable. Plus what about the Celtics? This guy just feeds the ESPN garbage.

I think the finals will be Lakers vs. Celtics. I think the Heat are done with their run of championships.
