Doc made some unpopular, and bold moves last season. One of those moves was moving Ray Allen to the bench. A move that helped Ray make his decision to leave. Doc has all the players this season. He will have many lineups to work with, and he will be challenged once again as a coach. Doc Rivers plays a major part this season much like the players. And the good news of course is that the players buy in.

“When Doc calls you answer,” said Jason Terry

“Doc is one of the best coaches we have in the league today,” said Terry. “He’ll go down in history as one of the best.

“He played at a high level and he commands respect from players throughout the league. I played for him in 2001 in the Goodwill Games, and we won a gold medal. Our relationship is pretty easy.”

Terry’s transition should be just as seamless. Rivers isn’t going to have any sales trouble here.

“It’s us buying into our roles,” said Terry. “Doc hasn’t told me specifically what that is, but I’m going to do it with the best of my ability.

This team moves for Doc, and he seems to know what strings to pull.
