With Rondo's(tied for 4th) MVP forecast prediction by ESPN. I thought about Pierce's time in Boston. When was Paul every considered as an MVP candidate? I need help from you guys if you know this answer. Was Pierce ever considered as an actual MVP candidate? I'd say no Paul has never been up for MVP. Of course Pierce never had a team like this in his prime, but even so, would Pierce win MVP if he had a team like this in his prime?
I'd say no still. Pierce has tenure over Rondo, and history over Rondo. But in time, could Rondo become a better Celtic? Could Rondo put together a better legacy? Pierce is Mr. Celtic right now, but if Rondo remains a Celtic. Rondo has a great chance to become the best Celtic since Bird. Especially if Rondo pulls off winning the MVP this season. Another title, and a good ranking as MVP this season will only help Rondo's chances at becoming the best in a Celtics uniform. I think both players have already set standards on what it means to be a Celtic. So will Rondo pass Pierce as a better Celtic?
