This game turned out to be the last time Magic Johnson ever played against Larry Bird. Magic retired from HIV 3 weeks later. This is Magic's final game at Boston Garden. So many battles, it's a shame it had to end.

The nineties would have been very different for the Celtics if Lewis hadn't died.

Well, I think ML Carr was terrible, so who knows. To me, ML Carr was like Keyon Dooling, but more of a faker than Dooling seems to be. But I really do think Lewis was a player who could carry a team. Maybe not championship caliber, but the Cs would have been a good team with his leadership.
