What's next on Paul's long list of records? One aspect of Paul's game that has been underrated for years has been defense. Of course in 2008, Pierce had received praise for his defensive turnaround. Paul in 2012-13 season will pass Larry Bird for the most steals in a Celtics uniform. Bird's at 1556, and Pierce has 1499. Should take Pierce half the season at least to pass Bird.

Pierce is also an underrated passer. He averages around 5 assists for his career. He won't pass Cousy as the best assist man in Celtics history at 6945. That will be Rondo in about 4 years. But he will pass Bill Russell at number 4 this season. Russell has 4100, and Pierce sits at 3935. Pierce should have about 400 dimes or less for the season. At number Bird has 5695, and more than likely Pierce won't reach that total.

We know that last season Pierce passed Bird as the number two scorer in Celtics history. Pierce has 22,591 points, and it will take Paul another three seasons to pass Havlicek at 26,395. Paul has already made his mark on the Celtics record books, and it will be fun to watch the chase.
