Question of the day: Elton Brand an option for the Celtics?

Posted by shawn cassidy on July 7, 2012 at 11:55 AM

Brand hasn't been the same player since joing the 76ers in the summer of 2008. He played solid last season, and at times he beat up the Celtics in their second series. At the right price, why can't we land Brand? We still need one more big to go along side KG, and Bass. Brand is good rebounder. Brand will be entering the down side of his career soon. But if he's an option for the Celtics. I say jump on the chance. What do you guys think? Brand a good fit in Boston?

He can start along side KG, and Bass can move to the bench. Sounds good to me, but of course Brand will get many looks. Please just not the Heat!

Have you heard any interest for Marcus Camby? I know the Heat can't sign him now. They used their mini mid-level on Ray.

I always liked Brand, but I say no. The money would be better spent matching Minnesota's offer to Steisma. Also, Chris Wilcox is still out there to be re-signed and would be a better and much younger option. Both are known quantities to us. Lastly, Sean Williams was signed at the end of the last season to a summer contract. The early report from Coach Ty Lue is that he is looking good and appears to finally have his head on straight.

Nothing definite, but the rumors are back to the Rockets or to the Knicks where he played at one time. The Celts are probably out as they would only have 1.3 -1.9 mil to offer. With the shortage of centers around, I sure he can get more somewhere.
