Question of the day: Wilcox, do you want him back?

Posted by shawn cassidy on June 27, 2012 at 11:15 AM

Rondo, and Wilcox made sweet music on the court. I thought it was an unlikely pairing. But it worked! Rondo made Chris a better player, and Wilcox really played some great basketball. I will go on the record, and say the Celtics may have beat the Heat with Wilcox, because Rondo was so great at picking apart match-ups, and Wilcox was able to run the floor.

I think having Wilcox back is a priority for the Celtics. I think he could start at center, if the options don't pan out. I think of course he would play best off the bench. The Celtics could have a really good team next season, or they could really look like a team that's full of pretenders. I think Wilcox is a key off-season signing for the Celtics. Just because Rondo works so well with him. On the flip side I wasn't 100% thrilled about the money the Celtics gave him, but at the end of the day, the talent pool was limited. So do you want Wilcox back?

Yes, Wilcox is proven help. I don't think the 3 million was excessive. For a 10 year veteran, I am not positive, but I think that is the minimum.

Very much so. I think Wlcox is the starting point for our new team. But I wouldn't pay him more than 3 million, or whatever it is. Next year is going to be awfully tough.
