Ray the odd man out

Posted by shawn cassidy on June 12, 2012 at 7:00 AM

Reports have surfaced about Ray's want to play somewhere else, and about his rift with Rondo. Everyone believes that Ray will walk. Because he wants a starting role on a contender, but is that even realistic for Ray? Is that even a way to think at his age? I think Ray returns. I don't see him getting up,and packing his family. His mom seems to also have a connection with the city.

I think the media, like always. Has made an issue about Rondo, and Ray. I don't see them having a breakdown much like Harrison, and McCartney during the Let it Be sessions. I think Ray should rethink coming off the bench first of all. He had his bone to pick about it, but it will only help the soon to be 37 year old. Rondo also has a pulse for where Ray will be on the floor. Ray won't get better passing anywhere else. We know that 2/4 of the Big four will be back next season. KG is more likely to return, but Ray by all media reports seems gone.

Ray Allen arrives at NBA future By Mark Murphy

“ I don’t want to go into (next) season, like I have in past seasons, worrying about whether I was going to be traded or not. At this point we want to ride it out, take this thing to the house, and not have the instability of not knowing whether today or tomorrow something is going to happen. . . . For all of us, you deal with that over the course of your career, but wherever I end up after this summer, that has to be the No. 1 mandate. At this time I owe it to my family to be ultimately selfish, because I’ve been a very unselfish team player, and I’ll always do that, but when it comes to myself and my family, I have to make sure that I don’t rock their worlds or put them off kilter in any fashion.”

Okay, Ainge you fucked up. Pardon my french, but Paul my man, you called it months ago. Danny hurt his relationship with the core four. By dangling them all season long.  Ray said it in his first sentence. Ray is hurting mentally right now, and maybe a clean break is what he wants at this point.  So bottom line, Ray may have made his last three as a Celtic.

So well put, Shawn. As always, I think the media types are providing cover for Ainge. Let's pin Allen's dissatisfaction on Rondo, rather than Ainge, even though he himself has pointed directly at the incessant trade dangling.

I think Ainge can bring both KG and Ray back if he acts like he wants them back, and makes it clear that the Ainge Express is on chill.

Ray with some strong words directed towards Danny, and nothing towards any of his teammates. Paul, I think both you and Shawn have something with this story.

I think Ray will be a great option if he wants to come off the bench. Danny has struck a chord with Ray though. Since the 09-10 season, and after the o8-09 season. Danny has been active in trading Ray. Danny needs to make up with him, and just give him a two year deal worth 5 million per year?

Danny needs to change his ways and let the guys know that he realizes he shouldn't constantly threaten trades. But will he?
