"IN RONDO WE TRUST"

Celtics Blog Post New Entry

Recap: C's pound the Hawks 101-79 ( Celtics lead series 3-1)

Clouds of doubts covered my sleepless nights early in the season, But the Celtics continue to work hard, and the focus they have right now is off the charts. You can't say much about tonight's game. Rondo was the basketball mastermind. Finding teammates in the toughest of spots, but in spots they could score. Rondo had 16 assists, and for awhile their  I thought he was going for 20 in-game 4. For me tonight Rondo's shooting was the story. He hit a pair of three's, and he hit three jumpers tonight that looked brilliant. His leadership on a scale of 1-10 tonight was a 15. Rajon only had 1 turnover, and that turnover wasn't a careless pass. This was a complete game from Rondo.

If you thought Rondo had a great game. Pierce was outstanding, and his shot was spot on. Paul was 4-of-6 from three point land, and he shot 10-of-13 for the game. Pierce had 24 points in 17 minutes. But Celtics nation had a moment of silence in the second quarter when Paul hurt his knee. In a postseason with so many injuries. It gave all of us a creepy feeling. Garnett added 6-of-8 from the field for 13 points in 27 minutes. The Celtics got to rest a lot of guys with this win. The Celtics largest lead of the night was 37 points. You can't ask for more. The Hawks made a run in the third, and cut the lead to 22. But Rondo, and Allen hit back-to-back three's to kill any momentum for the Hawks. The Celtics bench played outstanding. They scored 28 points, and Allen added 12 points off the bench. Dooling with 10 points for the C's.

The Celtics will look to finish the Hawks in five games this Tuesday.

  • Hawks out rebound the Celtics 40-37
  • Celtics shoot 51% from the field
  • The Celtics forced the Hawks to turn the ball over 17 times, and shoot 40%.

A. Sherrod Blakely ‏ @SherrodbCSN #CelticsTalk: Pierce suffered knee injury in shoot-around, #Celtics Doc Rivers wasn't sure if Pierce would play tonight.

Wow!

Best game of the postseason. Hell yea. I agree Rondo's best game of the season. Guys got rest, and that's second to the win.

Game 5 is so big, because you need to rest the guys, and to avoid another game so nobody gets hurt.

Rondo - Pierce synergy. The more of that we see, the further we will go!

And what a big impact Allen has had.

Someone made a comment on twitter that I thought was pointed - that's we are almost at the point where don't just expect double digit assists from Rondo every game - which is amazing in itself - but lately we expect it in the first half of a game!

Its a sign of greatness really. Didn't we expect Jordan to score !t least 30 or more in playoff games, and even 40 points at times.

Rondo is just getting started. He is rewriting history left and right throughout this series. What will he come up with next?
